I don't understand how to play the "Connecting Screen" mode.
Enter the same Secret Code as the friend you want to play with, then press the "Connect" button. This will connect you with your friend via the Internet.
After connecting with your friend, press the "Begin" button to go to the "Select Song" menu, where you can choose the song and game mode you want to play and get started.
